EPOLOCK 2200
EPOLOCK 2200 is a two-part, thermally cured adhesive offering exceptional thermal and chemical resistance. This adhesive is equivalent to Araldite 2015 and is designed for bonding various metals, ceramics, and thermoset plastics. EPOLOCK 2200 is particularly well-suited for demanding applications in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. This adhesive maintains stable performance in high-temperature and corrosive environments, demonstrating outstanding resistance to acids and bases with moderate to high concentrations. The superior properties of EPOLOCK 2200 have led to its widespread use in petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation, and other chemical industries.
Product Properties
- “Low shrinkage: The special adhesive formulation ensures minimal volumetric shrinkage during curing, resulting in maintaining dimensional accuracy, preventing internal stresses, and creating a stable and crack-free bond.
- Thermal Curing: This adhesive utilizes a thermal curing mechanism, creating a highly robust and stable structure with exceptional resistance to mechanical and thermal stresses.
- High Thermal Resistance: Its specialized formulation maintains mechanical properties and adhesion at elevated temperatures, ensuring reliable performance in high-temperature applications.
- Exceptional Chemical Resistance: This adhesive exhibits outstanding resistance to corrosive materials such as acids, bases, and organic solvents, providing long-lasting durability in harsh chemical environments.
- “Temperature Resistance up to 150°C: EPOLOCK 2200 maintains dimensional stability and adhesion at continuous operating temperatures up to 150°C, making it suitable for long-term thermal service applications.
Description
Specific applications
- Repairing Steel Pipelines: Ideal for repairing leaks, corrosion, and fractures in steel pipelines, providing high resistance to pressure and temperature.
- Composite Pipe Repair: Formulations are specifically designed to repair and rebuild GRP, GRE, and GRVE composite pipes, guaranteeing initial strength and complete sealing at the damaged area.
- Metal-to-Plastic Bonding: Due to its high chemical compatibility, this adhesive securely bonds dissimilar metal and polymer surfaces, resisting thermal and mechanical stresses that could cause separation.
- Tank and Composite Pipe (GRP-GRVE-GRE) Assembly: The adhesive’s high chemical resistance and strong adhesion in humid and corrosive environments make it ideal for repairing tanks and connections exposed to aggressive fluids.
- Applications in Water & Wastewater, Petrochemical & Oil & Gas Industries: This adhesive provides a reliable solution for bonding and sealing components in heavy-duty and infrastructure applications.
Safety, Hygiene & Maintenance
Safety Precautions
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile or butyl), safety glasses, and appropriate work clothing.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in enclosed areas; use a respirator if necessary.
- Skin & Eye Contact: In case of skin contact, immediately flush with copious amounts of water and soap. In case of eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek immediate medical attention.
Maintenance
- Tool Cleaning: Tools and equipment must be cleaned after use with epoxy-specific solvents. Mechanical scraping is the only method for removing cured adhesive.
- Storage Conditions: The product should be stored at a constant temperature between 8°C and 25°C (46°F and 77°F). Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity.
- Freezing: Avoid freezing the product, as this will completely destroy the hardener’s properties and hardness.
